A RARE GEM OF A PROPERTY – a beautifully restored, characteristic property, on the edge of a village, with swimming pool. This is something that is getting harder and harder to find in this wonderful part of Abruzzo.
The house is about 100 years old and full of character with the vaulted ceilings typical of the area. It was totally renovated from new windows down to the plumbing and electrics about seven years ago.
The house is serviced by mains gas, electricity and water, and has central heating throughout. It is currently used as a successful holiday rental, sleeping up to 9 people.
It is composed as follows:
GROUND FLOOR – large open plan kitchen and living room, double bedroom with en-suite shower room. The ceilings are vaulted and there is an attractive fireplace. Under-stair storage.
FIRST FLOOR – 3 double bedrooms, all with en-suites. One en-suite has a bath/shower and the other 2 are showers. One bedroom has a balcony and the other 2 bedrooms have Juliet balconies.
BASEMENT FLOOR – 2 spacious store rooms, both with vaulted ceilings.
GARDEN – the garden has been carefully tended. The main feature is the large swimming pool. There is patio area and a wooden decking, so lots of space for sitting outside and relaxing. There is also a pergola, covered in a highly-scented climber, for shade-lovers. There is plenty of space for a table and 8 chairs under the pergola, so ideal for eating al-fresco.
Charming views of the nearby hills and hilltop villages with the Gran Sasso mountains proving the back-drop.
You can walk to the local bar, shops and restaurant within a couple of minutes. The house is situated in the charming hillside village of Villa Bozza in Abruzzo, an unspoiled region on the eastern side of Italy. Villa Bozza is some 15 minutes’ drive from the mediaeval town of Atri, which is full of art and culture. It is 3 km from Castilenti and 15 km from Silvi. Rome is some 2 hours away by car.
The house is close to Abruzzo’s National Parks, the Gran Sasso mountains and the beach at Pineto.
The nearest airports are Pescara (45 minutes), Ancona (1.5 hours) and Rome (2 hours).
It is possible to buy the furniture.
